Mission

To create an unfiltered, no-judgment space where women come as they are—across identities, lifestyles, and ways of being—to have the conversations society avoids. We hold space for truth-telling around taboo topics—sex, aging, mental health, relationships, identity—because healing begins when silence is broken.

Vision

To build a bold, inclusive sisterhood that challenges norms, disrupts shame, and makes room for every woman to exist fully—without apology or permission.

A space where discomfort sparks growth, differences are honored, and no topic is off-limits in the pursuit of healing and self-definition.

Veatra Cruz

Veatra (Lil V) is a Navy veteran, licensed cosmetologist, and founder of The Women Veterans Company, where she merges beauty, wellness, and community to empower women to reclaim their voice and confidence.

Known for her ability to turn everyday conversations into powerful moments of clarity and connection, Veatra uses her platform to normalize the real — mental health, life transitions, relationships, and self-worth.

As a co-creator of Unfiltered Sister Friends, she’s here to spark the conversations we’ve been taught to avoid — and remind women that their stories deserve to be heard.

Vedia Barnett

Vedia (Big V) is an Air Force veteran, community organizer, and advocate for women. She holds a MA in Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies, focusing on Black women’s health and mental wellbeing.

After surviving a stroke, Vedia found she had to be in control of her healing—transforming her recovery into a mission. She’s the Founder of The Vet Space, a safe space for women veterans.

As co-founder of Unfiltered Sister Friends, she breaks open the conversations people tiptoe around—creating space for women to say the real, the raw, and the unpolished, and to own their stories without shrinking or apology.
